Challenge - Wildflowers

My favorite Picture I took this week!!! I tried something new, the sky was just too beautiful to not use it as a backdrop! As usual I went crazy, I take so many because it is a challenge and I like to see how many good pictures I can take.... So here they go, not too many this time...but a few, so if you get bored looking at flowers I wont be offended! :-)

I dont know what this next one is but its definitely strange and beautiful all the same, thinking I may put some of these in my flower beds next year!

Now this next one is my favorite flower, its my favorite color, periwinkle, and I just love the fields covered in blue in mornings.
Another favorite, Norms least favorite, a farmers enemy...the dreaded thistle! In various stages of blooming...

hmmm a flower? Kinda I guess
This little flower is white but I liked the black and white better than the original
Thats it, I had more, but I didn't want to totally overload you on wildflowers!

Morning my dear the one you do not know is Bee Balm, did you sneak into my garden!!! Where did you find it growing?

the one you did not know the name of was bee balm, or monarda. They come in various shades of maroon and pink, are upright plants that like a more dry area with full sun. One of my all time favs!

So its Bee Balm!!!!! Cool, I knew someone would know its name! I'm not very "smart" on wildflower names! LOL
Thanks guys, i kinda liked using the sky as a back drop, since it was sooooo blue! The wind was blowing so it was hard to get a good picture! Nope Mari didnt sneak! LOL It is growing along side the gravel lane going to poodles! I'm digging it up to put in my beds for next spring! I hope they transplant well!

Wow, you have some very pretty wildflowers there! The Bee Balm should definitely get a spot in your garden next year...I've done that with things I see around too! Hey, if it's pretty, plant it! My step-dad always says the definition of a weed is anything growing where you don't want it. So true! But I would want that Bee Balm anywhere! The blue flower is also very pretty...is that blue flax? Hmmm...I'll have to look it up. ;)

You must have spend a lot of time on your belly on the ground ;-). But the results are great. Love this blue background. Gives the flowers that special sunny feel.

Yes your fifth photo flower is definitely some species of Monarda, often called bee balm or horse mint.

Lovely selections!
